About UniPlan

A free university course matching tool for students applying to UK universities

What is UniPlan?

UniPlan is a free, open-access tool to help students explore UK university courses and match them against their A-Level grades. The platform aggregates publicly available university course information to give you a starting point for your university search.

UniPlan requires no login or account. Your grades are stored locally in your browser for privacy and convenience.

Important disclaimers

1. Not Official or Affiliated Data

UniPlan is not affiliated with UCAS or any UK university. Course information may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always verify entry requirements on the official university course page.

2. Subject Requirements May Be Missing

Our database may not capture all subject-specific requirements (e.g., "Mathematics A-Level required for Engineering"). Never apply to a course without checking the official subject requirements first.

3. No Guarantee of Admission

Meeting the published entry requirements does not guarantee admission. Universities consider many factors including personal statements, references, interviews, portfolio, contextual offers, and competition from other applicants.

4. Safety Levels Are Estimates

The "Safe", "Target", and "Reach" classifications are algorithmic estimates based solely on grade comparison. They do not account for course popularity, subject requirements, or other admission factors. Use them as a rough guide only.

5. Data Updates

University entry requirements change annually. Our database may not reflect the latest updates for the current application cycle. Always check the university website for the most current information.

Privacy & your data

No account required. UniPlan stores your grades locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:

  • Your data never leaves your device
  • We don't collect or store any personal information (beyond anonymous usage analytics)
  • You can clear your data anytime by clearing your browser storage
  • Your data is only accessible on the device and browser you're using

Understanding historical achieved grades

BETA

Some courses on UniPlan now display Historical Achieved Grades Data (2022–2024). This feature shows:

  • Most common grade: The grade most frequently held by accepted students
  • Range: The highest and lowest grades held by accepted students
  • UK offer rate: Percentage of UK applicants who received offers

⚠️ Important to understand

This data shows grades that students who received offers held (with UK A-Levels or BTEC Level 3) when they were previously accepted. It is designed to support your research.

However, this data does NOT guarantee whether you will or won't get a place:

  • Admissions teams consider many factors beyond grades
  • Including: interviews, subject requirements, entrance tests, personal statements, references
  • Course popularity and competition vary year to year
  • Contextual offers may affect requirements

✓ Always check the full course entry requirements for eligibility on the official university website

Data source: Historical grades data is sourced from UCAS course pages where available. Coverage is limited to courses where this data is publicly available (currently ~4,000-8,000 courses from 54 universities).
